Explorer 2. Can the forum explain to me what they think of the Explorer two as I think is the most versatile Rolex professional models that it’s produced. I’ve had one now for six months and it feels so comfortable (black face) and it’s so under the radar that I believe try the best Fessional models that they have produced or sometimes. I know the Explorer can be an everyday watch. What are your thoughts on the Datejust 2? I dress down on weekends and after work so would like to purchase 1 of the 2 for dress wear but also casual to super casual. I prefer the Explorer II in either white or black to the YM. I have owned YM's before and they are fine watches but I always go back to my Rolex Divers over them. The Explorer II is unique in design and appearance for me and they wear great. I wanted to write out a fairly detailed review of the 2021 Rolex Explorer 1 – 124270 which was released in April of this year. There has been much debate and discussion on this watch on TRF and other forums as its one of the few (if any) times Rolex has gone back to an original design size for a new model. Members of the forum will correct me .
The explorer 2 wears bigger on the wrist because of its slab sided case, but it’s thinner. The sky-dweller wears smaller and has smoother case lines that curve downward. It wears much better on my wrist compared to my EXP2. I have an Explorer II 16570 in white that I am considering trading up for a black dial 216570. Other than the size and color differences, I was wondering about peoples thoughts on long term collectability. I have the 16570 Explorer II (40mm) Polar, as others have been saying it provides a nice contrast to my black dial watches. While I would like the movable bezel, it is a far more economical watch and is by far the favorite of my small collection.
