This week, we are pitting two neo-vintage Seamaster Professional 300M . The 2531.80 and the upgraded 2220.80 model with the wave dial will forever be an iconic timeless classic. I still prefer it over the current SMPc any time of the day. I recently acquired an Omega Seamaster 2531.80. 49XXXXXX serial number puts it at around 1986. I got it for a good price, and other than the bezel insert being pretty scuffed up and the hands/dial lume being faded, the watch looks great. It has been certified ‘Master Chronometer’ by METAS, of which all details can be found here .
I wouldn't consider the 2531 to be vintage, but it is a very well recognized, reliable, and much loved watch. It's the model that launched Omega into the Bond franchise.
